Premier League new boys Huddersfield Town are in the race to sign Chelsea youngster Izzy Brown, according to a report in the Sun.

The newspaper claims Terriers manager David Wagner is interested in the £8.5million-rated 20-year-old forward.

Brown spent the latter half of the 2016-17 campaign on loan at Huddersfield, where he impressed.

He made 21 appearances in all competitions for the club, scoring five goals and providing one assist.

The 20-year-old was used in a variety of positions by Wagner, as he was played as a second striker, on the left-wing and as an attacking midfielder.

Brown spent the first half of the season on loan at Rotherham United, where he played 20 league and cup games, which yielded three goals and five assists.

Wagner will be looking to strengthen his squad this summer ahead of their first ever season in the Premier League.

The Sun report also details his interest in Porto striker Laurent Depoitre, Manchester City midfielder Aaron Mooy and Reading defender Danny Williams.

Brown joined Chelsea from West Brom’s academy in the summer of 2013, and he has since only featured once for the first team.

However, he has been a regular for the club’s Under-23s outfit, scoring goals 11 and providing nine assists in 32 appearances in all competitions.
