Chelsea are preparing a £48million bid to sign Juventus ace Leonardo Bonucci which would also see Nemanja Matic going the other way, according to a Sun report.

The newspaper claims the 30-year-old centre-back could leave the Italian giants this summer after a series of rows with manager Massimiliano Allegri and the Blues are ready to make an offer for him.

In the latest bust-up, Allegri accused him of not following instructions in their Champions League final defeat to Real Madrid last Saturday.

It is said Juventus value Bonucci at £60million, but that he’s keen on Matic, which has led to the Blues considering a player-plus-cash deal for the defender.

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte and Bonucci have worked together previously, both at Juventus and for Italy.

This comes after a Sun report claimed Conte was looking to bring the 30-year-old to Stamford Bridge this summer and that they were ready to offer him a four-year contract worth £115,000-a-week.

The no-nonsense centre-back was one of Juventus’ top performers this term, making 45 appearances in all competitions, contributing to 25 clean sheets.

He arrived in Turin in the summer of 2010 after a £13million switch from Bari, and he has since played 319 league and cup games for the club.

Bonucci has also been capped by Italy 69 times, and has scored five goals, one of which came in a 2-1 friendly win over the Netherlands in March of this year.
