Chelsea mystery signing: Could it be one of these three stars?

Chelsea have made their first signing of the summer transfer window but won’t announce who the player is until July 1, according to a report in The Evening Standard.

The newspaper claim that the announcement has been delayed until the window officially opens, however it is understood that an agreement has been made with the mystery player.

The Evening Standard made it clear that Chelsea wouldn’t confirm any leads as to who the player may be or what club they’re from.

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has been seemingly quiet on the transfer front, but a busy summer window looks likely if he is aiming to retain the club’s Premier League crown.

The mystery signing could be a number of possible players, however with goal-machine Eden Hazard sidelined with injury and Diego Costa out of Conte’s 2017/18 campaign plans a strong forward would seem the natural choice.

Chelsea are also in the market for a back-up keeper to Thibaut Courtois after Asmir Begovic was sold to Bournemouth.
