Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin has recently purchased a house in Barcelona and is moving back to Spain, according to SPORT.

The Spanish media outlet has claimed that the right-back has already taken the first steps to facilitate his move back to Spain.

It is said that in addition to buying a property, his family, who moved to London with him when he joined the Gunners, have returned to a town close to Barcelona too.

The 22-year-old Spaniard has been recently linked with a move back to Barcelona, and the SPORT report claims that the Arsenal defender is keen to play at Nou Camp next season.

The Spanish international left his boyhood club at the age of 16 when he joined the Arsenal Under-19 squad back in 2011, and since then the right-back has moved through the ranks at the Emirates.

The Spaniard spent a season on loan to Watford in 2013 before he continued on to make his first team debut with Arsenal in 2014 in central midfield against West Brom.

Bellerin became a key part of the north London side’s first-team during the past season, and despite the club’s disappointing Premier League campaign the former Barcelona player made 33 appearances in the competition, where he managed to provide four assists in addition to a goal.

The Gunners star renewed his contract back in November, and although he is signed with the club until 2023, it’s now possible that he will be returning to his roots as Barca boss Ernesto Valverde looks to strengthen his squad’s defence at Nou Camp.

The SPORT report claims that Bellerin is aware that the transfer could be a long and complicated one, and the defender doesn’t expect negotiations to start until July.
