Ian Wright has urged Arsenal to make a big push to sign AC Milan sensation Gianluigi Donnarumma this summer.

The Gunners legend took to Twitter on Tuesday to urge the Gunners to forget about trying to land Monaco forward Kylian Mbappe and instead aim for another 18-year-old who has the world at his feet.

Wright admitted on his personal Twitter account he would “love to see” Mbappe in Arsenal colours but would “rather us have a blast” at prising goalkeeper Donnarumma from Milan.

The Italian teenager only turned 18 in February but is already the established number one at the Serie A giants and, remarkably, started all 38 of their league matches in the recently completed season.

Donnarumma is regarded as Gianluigi Buffon’s heir apparent for the national side and has already accumulated three full Italy caps.

He broke into the Milan team at the age of 16 and has barely taken a backwards glance since making his debut in October 2015.

Arsenal’s current number one is Petr Cech but he turned 35 last month and his powers appear to be on the wane after a glittering career.

The veteran keeper was overlooked for the FA Cup final as Arsene Wenger instead handed a starting role to David Ospina, who is widely expected to leave Emirates Stadium this summer.
