Arsenal defender Laurent Koscielny has revealed during a recent interview with Arsenal.com that Jeff Reine-Adelaide is the club’s young player to watch.

French international Koscielny identified the Arsenal under-23 midfielder as the player most likely to step up and make a first-team debut next season.

The 31-year-old commented that he believed time with the first team next season would be a learning opportunity for Reine-Adelaide and that he has the potential to improve.

During the interview with Arsenal player the Frenchman was quoted saying: “He plays some games every season and I think he can improve a lot. He can learn a lot with us.

“He has all the quality and after that it’s in his head to work more and to want to achieve something with this club.

“I hope he will start next season, play a lot and improve with us.”

The 19-year-old made 15 appearances for Arsenal’s Under 23s over the previous season, and joined the club back in 2015 from RC Lens for just over £2 million on a four-year contract.

Wenger is known for supporting and allowing young players to develop and grow through the Arsenal ranks, and Koscielny believes the young French international should be given the opportunity to do so.

Fellow Frenchman Koscielny is now one of the most senior figures at the club after joining seven years ago.

Since moving to the Emirates back in 2010 the 31-year-old has made a total of 291 appearances for the north London club, and during that time has won three FA Cups under Wenger’s leadership.
