Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud looks to have taken a huge step in committing his future to the club by dismissing rumours of a summer departure.

This comes after L’Equipe reported Lyon were eyeing up a summer move for the 30-year-old, who was largely restricted to substitute appearances for the Gunners this term.

Meanwhile the Sun claimed Marseille were also lining up a swoop for the Frenchman, who is under contract with the Gunners until 2019.

However, Giroud told French television show Telefoot he is not looking to leave the Emirates this term, even though his playing time was restricted.

As quoted by the Daily Mail, he said: “I am not insensitive to the approaches of the French clubs and especially that of Marseille. But my future is in the Premier League. I still have titles to win.

“After the FA Cup, we will go for the league title. That’s my goal.”

Despite making 40 appearances in all competitions this season, he started just 17 of those matches, with manager Arsene Wenger preferring to use him as a super-sub.

However, he still managed to bag 16 goals and provide seven assists, one of which came in the FA Cup final, as he set-up Aaron Ramsey’s winner just minutes after being introduced.

Giroud arrived at the Emirates in the summer of 2012 from Montpellier in a £10.2million move, and since then he has been prolific in the Premier League, scoring 69 goals in 164 games.

He has also been capped by France on 61 occasions, scoring 23 goals, bagging a hat-trick in his most recent appearance as his nation thrashed Paraguay 5-0 in a friendly earlier this week.
