Arsenal have been told it will take £50million to sign Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette this summer, according to the Telegraph.

The newspaper claim the Premier League giants are ready to table a new bid for the French goal machine as they attempt to seal a deal they could not push through last summer.

The Telegraph report that Arsenal had a £30million bid rejected for Lacazette, 26, 12 months ago and have now been quoted £50million plus add-ons to seal the deal in the coming months.

It is said that manager Arsene Wenger must still convince the France striker to join as Atletico Madrid lie in wait to sign him in January when their transfer ban has ended.

Arsenal are reportedly willing to match Lyon’s monster asking price despite a confidence at the French club that he will stay.

The Telegraph report that Arsenal’s chances of signing Lacazette may also be helped by offering Olivier Giroud in part-exchange following the Gunners strikers’ claim that he is not willing to play second fiddle again next season.

The Frenchman had another prolific season for Lyon in 2016-17, racking up 37 goals in 45 matches, including a remarkable 28 from 30 league fixtures.

In the last three seasons, 11-times international Lacazette has scored 91 goals to take his tally for Lyon to 129 from 275 matches.
