Arsenal have been offered Lyon star Alexandre Lacazette in return for striker Olivier Giroud, according to a report in Le10 Sport.

The French media outlet have claimed that the Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has offered Arsene Wenger a part-exchange deal for the Ligue 1 striker and wants to examine how the deal could be structured.

According to Le10, Arsenal are interested in the potential offer and have reportedly entered talks with the French club.

However, a move to a Ligue 1 club wouldn’t be high on Giroud’s priorities after he recently said that the criticism from French fans was tedious and that supporters had doubted him throughout his whole career.

It may be a move that the 30-year-old has to come to terms with though, as Lacazette has been high on Arsene Wenger’s transfer list for some time.

The Telegraph recently reported that the Gunners would have to pay a total of £60 million for the striker, with £48 million up front plus a staggering £10.6 million in add-ons.

Lacazette would be welcomed by fans at the Emirates as the Frenchman had an incredible season at Lyon, netting a staggering 37 goals in 45 appearances for the Ligue 1 outfit.

A report in the Mirror said that Lacazette was one of Wenger’s top three summer targets.

Giroud suffered from a lack of starts last season but still managed 16 goals in 40 appearances for the north London club.

Arsene Wenger is expected to make some big changes to the squad during the summer transfer window after he agreed to extend his managerial contract for another two years.
