Arsenal have told full-back Hector Bellerin that they have no intention of selling him to La Liga giants Barcelona this summer, according to Cadena Ser.

The Spanish outlet reports that Barcelona director of football Robert Fernandez and new head coach Ernesto Valverde believe that the 22-year-old is the perfect fit for the right full-back role at the Camp Nou next season.

The report also claims that the Spaniard is keen on a return to his native country but the North London club have informed him that he will not be leaving the Emirates Stadium during the transfer window.

This follows up from the report in the Catalonia-based newspaper Sport which claimed that Bellerin has already purchased a house in Barcelona ahead of a potential deal.

The Spaniard spent nine years with the Barcelona youth-team but he was unable to break into the senior set-up which led to him moving to Arsenal in 2011.

Since breaking into the first-team during the 2014-15 season, the full-back has become an important player for the Gunners, making over 100 appearances for the club.

Bellerin featured in 42 matches in all competitions last season, scoring one goals and providing five assists.

The full-back is currently away with the Spain Under-21 national team competing in the European Championships in Poland.

The Spaniard’s current contract at the Emirates Stadium runs out in 2023.
