Italian giants AC Milan are interested in signing Arsenal central defender Laurent Koscielny during the summer transfer window, according to Telefoot.

The French outlet claims that the Serie A side are looking too add more stability in defence and they believe that the 31-year-old defender is the perfect candidate for the job.

Milan struggled to keep clean sheets last season as they conceded a total of 45 goals in the league – their worst defensive record in Serie A for two years.

The report also claims that Premier League rivals Manchester City and Ligue 1 side Olympique Marseille are also keen on landing the central defender this summer.

Arsenal reportedly have no intention of selling the Frenchman as manager Arsene Wenger is counting on him to perform next season as he believes that Koscielny is an essential part of the squad.

The Gunners can simply not afford to lose the Frenchman this summer especially with the prospect of competing in the Europa League next season.

Koscielny has become one of the club’s most consistent performers for the last couple of seasons.

The central defender made a total of 43 appearances in all competitions in the previous campaign, scoring two goals and keeping 10 clean sheets in the Premier League.

The Frenchman’s contract at the Emirates Stadium expires in 2020.
