It appears that Steve Bruce faces some competition in his pursuit of bringing Manchester United goalkeeper Sam Johnstone to Villa Park next season on a permanent deal.
The Daily Mail recently reported that fellow Championship side Sunderland are also interested in signing the 24-year-old keeper alongside Leeds United and Premier League side Watford.
