Leeds United supremo Andrea Radrizzani has revealed on Twitter that the club’s new kit will be launched next week.

The United sole owner made the major admission after being quizzed on social media about when the team strip for the 2017-18 would be unveiled to the public.

Asked by a Leeds supporter for an update on the kit launch date, Radrizzani replied simply on his personal Twitter account “5th July” followed immediately afterwards with the instruction “get it”.

The revelation was greeted with acclaim by supporters, who are keen to demonstrate their support for the team as the new regime continue a radical overhaul on and off the pitch.

In recent years, Leeds have launched their new kit immediately at the end of the season but there has been a considerable delay this year as Radrizzani and company have concentrated their efforts on other areas of the club.

Not only has the owner appointed a new manager, director of football and managing director but it was announced on Wednesday that Leeds have reclaimed ownership of Elland Road after 13 years of private ownership in a deal worth a reported £20million.

The Yorkshire giants have also been busy overhauling the squad that finished seventh under former manager Garry Monk last season.

Leeds announced their third signing in seven days on Friday, when goalkeeper Felix Wiedwald joined from Werder Bremen, following the earlier arrivals of midfield duo Mateusz Klich and Madger Gomes.

The influx of new arrivals and good news is likely to lead to a demand for the new kit that has not been matched for many years.
