Aston Villa have added Granada midfielder Mubarak Wakaso on their summer shopping list, according to Ghana Soccer Net.

The report claims that the 26-year-old La Liga player is a man in demand with Premier League side Swansea and Championship play-off finalists Reading enquiring about his availability.

Mubarak’s loan spell at recently-relegated Granada is due to expire this month where he will then return to his parent club Panathinaikos.

During his time in Spain’s top flight, the versatile midfielder played 11 matches, scoring one goal and providing one assist for his side, and Ghana Soccer Net report that he is renowned for his ferocious left foot.

He joined Granada during the winter transfer window after struggling to earn regular game time in Greece with  Panathinaikos.

During his career, Mubarak has played in three different countries, including Scotland where he represented Glasgow giants Celtic on 11 occasions.

Added with his experience in club football, Mubarak has also represented his home nation of Ghana on 49 occasions, scoring 12 goals.

Villa will start the forthcoming Championship season as on the favourites to earn promotion to the Premier League following their bottom half finish during the previous campaign.

Steve Bruce is the manager tasked with helping them achieve their goals after he joined the Midlands outfit last October.

After spending heavily on transfers following their relegation from the Premier League, Villa are yet to make any signings during this summer window.
