West Ham will not be adding any midfielders to their team this summer, according to Claret and Hugh.

The report details that the Hammers have “no interest” in adding to their midfield ranks in the next window despite links to Manchester City veteran Yaya Toure.

It is further claimed that the window could be a “very quiet one” for the east London club with Pablo Zabaleta having already joined the club on a free transfer, while forwards Michy Batshuayi and Kelechi Iheanace are “major targets” for West Ham.

In regards to the midfield the website quotes a source as saying the club is “absolutely fine in that area of the pitch,” while also stating that the east Londoners are “solely” looking at strikers at this moment in time.

“We are absolutely fine in that area of the pitch with Cheik (Kouyate), Manuel Lanzini, Mark Noble, Edmilson Fernandes, Rob Snodgrass, Sofiane Feghouli and top youngsters coming through.

“We are looking solely at strikers right now but there’s a lot of clubs in the same market place.”

West Ham finished the season with a midfield of Fernandes, Lanzini, Feghouli and Snodgrass as they defeated Burnley in a 2-1 win at Turf Moor.

They also added a total of seven midfield players to their senior squad in both windows in the last campaign with the likes of Feghouli, Lanzini, Havard Nordtveit and Gokhan Tore all joining Slaven Bilic’s team.

The Croatian manager was of course adding numbers to his team last summer due to European football, but this time around he will aiming to get the team back competing in the Europa League.
