Zabaleta has been heavily linked with a move to east London in recent months and on Monday the Evening Standard claimed that the experienced player was due in London this week to put the finishing touches to a transfer as he is set to leave City with his contract expiring this summer.
The full-back ace has been playing in England for nine years now after joining City from Spanish club Espanyol in the summer of 2008.
He was once considered one of the best full-backs in the English top-flight and in his 333 appearances for Manchester City he has helped them lift two Premier League titles alongside an FA Cup and a League Cup trophy.
West Ham meanwhile will be looking for a new full-back this summer given that they have had to shove stars Michail Antonio and Cheikhou Kouyate in the role at times this season due to Sam Byram and Alvaro Arbeloa failing to impress.
