Lincoln have rejected West Ham’s offer for defender Sean Raggett, according to Lincolnshire Live.

The report details that the National League champions have turned down a £125,000 bid from the Hammers for the 24-year-old centre-back.

It is also believed that League One pair Peterborough United and Oxford United have also seen their £250,000 moves rejected.

Lincoln believe the offers are “well short” of his valuation and that Premier League club West From are also monitoring his situation.

West Ham will have to improve their bid significantly if they are to capture the non-league sensation that helped the Imps obtain promotion this season.

The powerful defender is set to experience League Two next season as he plays in the Football League for the first time in his career, but is being offered the chance to climb even further up the footballing.

Slaven Bilic already has the likes of James Collins, Jose Fonte, Angelo Ogbonna and Winston Reid as centre-back options in his squad, but may want to bring in some younger players.

It would be a huge step up to the top flight if Raggett made the move, but Leicester’s Jamie Vardy is a shining example that it can be done successfully after he won the Premier League title with the Foxes in the 2015/16 season.

Raggett has experienced playing against Premier League teams during Lincoln’s remarkable FA Cup run, before they were eventually knocked out away to Arsenal in the quarter-finals.

The centre-back played a major role for his side all season and made 47 appearances across all competitions, chipping in with seven goals.
