Rangers are interested in signing Motherwell forward Louis Moult, according to a report.

The Scottish Sun claim that Gers manager Pedro Caixinha is keen on the 24-year-old striker, who has has been in prolific form for league rivals Motherwell this season.

It is understood that Caixinha is set for a busy summer window as he rebuilds his squad and is also eyeing moves for Ben Heneghan and Norwich’s Steven Whittaker.

The report details that Motherwell would demand a big fix-figure sum to prize key pair Moult and Heneghan away from their club.

It is also believed that Moult’s former club Wrexham would receive a healthy percentage of any transfer fee.

Moult has been in great form this season and has managed 17 goals in just 31 appearances across all competitions.

The Englishman has just one year remaining on his current contract at Fir Park and has already showed Rangers first hand his talents this year.

He has scored twice in four appearances against the Gers this year, including an important strike to earn a point against the Ibrox outfit.

Rangers have had difficulties in the attacking areas this season and veteran forward Kenny Miller is their top scorer with 10 goals across all competitions.
