Liverpool are not interested in signing Chelsea star Cesc Fabregas despite recent reports, according to a Sky journalist.

The Daily Express claimed that the Reds want to lure the £30million-rated ace to Anfield this summer, as Jurgen Klopp looks to add experience to his youthful Merseyside outfit.

However, Sky reporter Kaveh Solhekol revealed on his personal Twitter account that the Reds have “zero interest” in signing the 29-year-old playmaker from Antonio Conte’s side.

The report details that Manchester United, Inter Milan and AC Milan are also interested in the former Arsenal star, who has two years left on his current contract with the Blues.

But it now seems that Liverpool will not be signing the former Barcelona star, who is known for his creativity in the final third and wearing his heart on his sleeve when on the pitch.

This season, Fabregas has fallen down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge following Antonio Conte’s decision to switch to a 3-4-2-1 system.

With the system not suiting the Spain international’s style of play, Fabregas has made just 10 league starts for the west London outfit as they remain at the top of the table.

Nevertheless, Fabregas has the best assists-per-minute ratio in the Premier League this season and is tally of 103 Premier league assists is bettered only by Ryan Giggs in the 25-year history of the competition.

With his future in doubt, the Spaniard must assess his options at the end of the season – but Jurgen Klopp’s side do not seem to be one, according to Solhekol.
