Everton have made an offer for AC Milan attacker M’Baye Niang, according to Calcio Mercato.

The Italian news outlet claims that the 22-year-old is looking to force a move away from the San Siro and that his agent Federico Pastorello has presented an offer to Milan’s leaders.

It is understood that the Serie A giants are looking for a fee of £15.7million should they decide to sell the former France Under-21 international, who has spent the last half of this season on loan at Watford.

Niang became a key part in Walter Mazzari’ squad and started all but one Premier League game during his temporary spell at Vicarage Road.

He made 16 appearances for Watford, scoring two goals and two assists.

Calcio Mercato claims that Ronald Koeman has put Niang high on his summer wishlist as he looks to replace Romelu Lukaku, who looks increasingly like he will leave the club in the near future.

The left-winger, who can also play as a striker, was very highly rated in his youth while playing for Stade Malherbe Caen in his native France, but has largely failed to deliver since he moved to AC Milan in 2012.

According to the Daily Mail, he was close to moving to Everton five years ago after spending a trial period at the Merseyside club, but ultimately decided that the San Siro was his preferred destination.

Niang has played just 77 times across all competitons in his time with the Rossoneri and scored 12 goals.

His move to Watford was the third time he has been sent out on loan after previous spells with Montpellier and Genoa.
