Midfielder Conor Coventry has agreed terms with West Ham, the club’s chairman David Gold has revealed on Twitter.
Gold explained on his personal social media account that academy product Coventry has signed his first professional contract with the Hammers two months after his 17th birthday.

The teenager has been rewarded for the progress he has made at the London Stadium this season and comes less than a year after he signed scholarship terms with the club.
Coventry, who has likened his own playing style to that of West Ham skipper Mark Noble, has been a regular for the club’s Under-18s this season.
The Irish-born youngster 20 appearances for the age-group side and also made a brief substitute’s appearances for West Ham’s development side in Premier League 2.
Gold’s announcement that Coventry has signed a professional deal comes after the club announced their list of retained players on Thursday.
The likes of Jonathan Calleri and Gokhan Tore have returned to their parent clubs following season-long loans while former Liverpool player Alvaro Arbeloa will also leave when his contract expires on 30 June.
