Rangers need to completely revamp their squad over the summer and it seems Pedro Caixinha is already making some progress towards doing that.

The Ibrox manager has already shown that he isn’t afraid to give youth a chance and he should look to add a quality teenager to his backline after Manchester United’s Regan Poole made himself available for loan.

Pool admitted that a temporary move away from Old Trafford could be beneficial to him in the future and Rangers must try to capitalise on this opportunity.

“It’s possible I could go out on loan, but I haven’t spoken to the club about what happens next season,” he said, as quoted by Sky Sports on their transfer blog on Monday [7:22PM]. “It’s a tough one because I’m developing under the best coaches in the world at United, and it’s all about what the club thinks is best for me.

“But I would like to get out on loan. I miss playing in the league, there was nothing better.”

There’s no doubt that the 18-year-old will be an improvement on players like David Bates, who was thrown into the deep end by Caixinha towards the end of the recently ended campaign.

Poole does have first-team experience under his belt, and that is why it’s crucial the Light Blues should try to get him for at least one season.

He made 17 appearances for League Two side Newport County before his move to Premier League giants Man United in 2015.

The Wales youth international was just over 16-years-of-age when he made his senior debut, showing that his wisdom is well beyond that expected of someone his age.

Louis Van Gaal handed Poole his United debut in the Europa League win against FC Midtjylland last February and has since been a regular feature in Premier League 2 while learning under Jose Mourinho.

Poole is quick on his feet and good with the ball, meaning he could really add something different to the Gers rearguard.

The Ibrox faithful might be thinking that a player with more experience to their name would be a better suited signing.

But a player who is plying his trade at one of the best youth set-ups in the UK is definitely someone who could walk straight into a squad that Caixinha could put out at the moment.
