Craig Shakespeare has likened Tottenham’s offensive style to Manchester City as he prepares his Leicester side to face them in the Premier League.

Spurs travel to the King Power Stadium on Thursday night for a league clash and it could be an entertaining match as both teams have little to play for.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side have already secured second in the league table and were unable to catch champions Chelsea.

Meanwhile, Leicester are 11th-placed in the league and have managed to reach mid-table following the shock sacking of Claudio Ranieri, who won the title with them last season.

Shakespeare, who is the Foxes manager until the end of the season, has compared Spurs to Premier League side Man City in his pre-match press conference.

The north London club have showcased a brilliant attacking style that has been too good for most opponents, while Man City also have an exciting frontline under Pep Guardiola.

“Offensively Spurs are a little similar to Man City. I’ve worked with Kane and Alli and they’ve progressed well as a team,” Shakespeare said, as quoted by the club’s official Twitter account.

Leicester suffered a narrow 2-1 away defeat at the Etihad Stadium against Man City at the weekend and their injury-hit squad will be looking to get a better result on Thursday.

However, Spurs have been in great touch in front of goal this year and Pochettino has had several players in top goalscoring form.

Harry Kane, Dele Alli, Heung-Min Son and Christian Eriksen have been particularly lethal in attack, scoring a combined 80 goals between them during the course of the season.

In contrast, Man City have also looked dangerous in attack and are beginning to show the kind of qualities traditionally associated with a Guardiola team.

They have three emerging stars in Leroy Sane, Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus as an attacking trio, while 31-goal striker Sergio Aguero is another fantastic option.

Both sides look set for a top-four spot this year and have played some attractive football, but it is Antonio Conte’s well drilled Chelsea outfit that have clinched the title.
