TalkSPORT pundit Adam Virgo has sent Celtic a good luck message on Twitter ahead of their Scottish Cup final against Aberdeen on Saturday afternoon.

The former player for the Glasgow giants urged the club to complete a domestic clean sweep to put the finishing touches to what has been a “brilliant” season.

Virgo, 34, only played eight games during his three-season stint with Celtic as he was loaned out to Colchester and Coventry.

He wrote on his personal Twitter account: “Best of luck @celticfc in the Scottish Cup final today fingers crossed for a victory to complete the treble and a brilliant season.”

Celtic have already wrapped up a domestic league and cup double this term, by winning the Scottish Premiership and the Scottish League cup, but there is no doubt they are eyeing a historic treble.

If they can beat the Dons at Hampden Park it will confirm they have gone an entire domestic campaign unbeaten, having already completed the feat in the league.

Celtic are red-hot favourites going into the tie, and last time the side’s met they came out on top, winning 3-1.

Brendan Rodgers’ side flew into a 3-0 lead in the match at Pittodrie just over two weeks ago as Stuart Armstrong, Leigh Griffiths and Dedryck Boyata all struck within the opening 10 minutes.

Jonny Hayes did pull one back for the Dons, but it was little more than a consolation goal.

Virgo enjoyed a long career in the English second and third-tier, playing more than 100 league and cup games for Brighton and Hove Albion.
