Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has claimed his “brilliant” players have prepared for the upcoming Scottish Cup final as if it were any other game.

His side will face Aberdeen at Hampden Park on Saturday, and if the Hoops can claim a victory they will secure a historic treble and a domestic clean sweep.

Rodgers only took charge at Parkhead last summer but has already guided his side to the Scottish Premiership title and a Scottish League Cup win.

Speaking to the Daily Record ahead of the cup final showdown, Rodgers said: “We have tried to remove the emotion of it all, as we have done for a lot of the season. We have just tried to look at the next game.

“We have tried to retain our focus, that’s what we have done, and it is about concentrating on what we can control and our preparation. And the players have dealt brilliantly with pressure this season.”

Rodgers’ side could also complete the entire domestic season unbeaten if they beat the Dons, having already finished their league campaign as invincibles.

The 44-year-old previously managed Liverpool, Swansea, Reading and Watford before joining the Glasgow giants in May 2016.

A victory on Saturday will mark Celtic’s 37th Scottish Cup win, having already won their 48th Scottish league title this term.

Rodgers will be buoyed by the news that star striker Moussa Dembele will be fit to play a part in the final.

The French striker, 20, has not played since the Scottish Cup semi-final win over Rangers in April, however he has been in prolific form this season, scoring 32 goals in 49 league and cup games.
