Celtic ace Moussa Dembele has returned to training ahead of his side’s Scottish Cup final with Aberdeen on Saturday, according to the Scottish Sun.

The newspaper claims the 20-year-old has stepped up his injury comeback this week and Brendan Rodgers will keep a close eye on his progress over the next 24 hours to assess whether he is ready to take part.

It is said Leigh Griffiths “is certain” to start and spearhead the Celtic attack versus the Dons, and Dembele could feature from the bench.

However manager Rodgers is anxious of aggravating Dembele’s ahead of the Champions League qualifiers in July.

The French striker picked up a hamstring injury in the Hoops’ Scottish Cup semi-final win against Rangers back in April and he has not featured since.

Since signing from Fulham in the summer of 2016, Dembele has become a key player for the Bhoys and a real fan favourite.

Before picking up his injury he scored 32 goals in 49 league and cup games, as well as providing nine assists.

Celtic have already won a domestic double this term, by winning the Scottish Premiership and the Scottish League Cup, but they can secure a historic treble on Saturday by beating Aberdeen.

The Hoops wrapped up the league title last Sunday with a 2-0 win over Hearts, which also confirmed they had completed a whole league campaign unbeaten.
