WWE superstar and Celtic fan Sheamus has sent his congratulations to the Hoops after they secured the treble with victory over Aberdeen in the Scottish Cup final.

Brendan Rodgers’ side earned a last-gasp 2-1 victory over Derek McInnes’ side on Saturday afternoon at Hampden Park, combining the Scottish Cup final trophy with their Scottish Premiership and League Cup triumphs.

Posting on his personal Twitter account, Sheamus told fans that he wished he “was in Glasgow to celebrate” as the Bhoys confirmed their unbeaten status across all three Scottish competitions.

Their attempt at securing the trouble suffered an early scare as attacker Jonny Hayes gave his side a surprise lead in just the ninth minute.

However, Scotland international Stuart Armstrong restored parity just two minutes later, with the scoreline remaining the same until second-half injury time.

Substitute Tom Rogic, who replaced Kieran Tierney in the first half after the left-back suffered a facial injury, tucked the ball in at the near post past Joe Lewis after a superb solo run past the Dons defence to earn a late win.

It saw Celtic hold aloft their 37th Scottish Cup of their history, making Rodgers only the third Celtic manager in history to complete the treble – joining an illustrious list alongside Jock Stein and Martin O’Neill.

Rodgers is now expected to make improvements to his side in the summer transfer market in order to boost his side’s chances of completing the same feat, as well as going one better in the Champions League next season.
