Josh Windass and Jon Toral were both included in the starting line-up against St Johnstone – and the Rangers fans were highly critical of the pair on Twitter.

The two first teamers were included in the starting XI for their last league game of the season away to St Johnstone.

Pedro Caixinha has decided to make five alterations to his starting line-up as the Gers confirmed their line-up on their official Twitter account.

Wes Foderingham, Lee Howson, Barrie McKay, Joe Dodoo and Joe Garner have all dropped out form the defeat to Aberdeen.

Meanwhile, Jan Alnwick, Myles Beerman, Jamie Barjonas, Jason Holt and Martyn Waghorn have come into the side.

Rangers fans voiced their frustration on social media that midfield pair Windass and Toral retained their places, with one fans stating they hoped it was the last time they ever played for the Ibrox outfit.

Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Rangers boss Caixinha is set to undergo a busy transfer window in the summer as he looks to drastically improve his squad, who have finished the season third in the league table.

Windass has endured a frustrating year that has been halted by injury and the central midfielder has made 26 appearances across all competitions, scoring one goal and supplying five assists.

The 23-year-old moved to the Scottish giants as a goalscoring midfielder, but he has been unable to replicate that.

Meanwhile, Toral could well be playing his final game for the club as his contract expires at the end of the season following his six-month loan move from Arsenal.

He has made 14 appearances since his January arrival and shown in glimpses his quality in possession, but has come under criticism from supporters for his inconsistency.
