West Brom are close to tabling a £25m bid for William Carvalho.
According to a report in the Daily Mirror Tony Pulis is ready to bring the Sporting Lisbon midfielder to the Hawthorns.
West Brom had a bid of £30m rejected last summer but Pulis has kept tabs on the holding midfielder and is convinced that at £25m he can add extra quality to the Baggies midfield.
Although it’s not quite been alarm bell time the West Brom boss has been concerned by a run of four straight defeats and believes that the Portuguese midfielder can add some missing steel to his side.
Carvalho has got vast experience of international football and was a key member of the Portugal side that won last summer’s European Championships in France.
As well as adding quality Pulis is looking to lower the age profile of his squad with the 25-year-old matching that criteria perfectly.
