Tottenham fans on Twitter have stated their hopes that fringe player Kevin Wimmer remains at the club in the next campaign after the Austrian Tweeted himself “looking forward to next season.”
Wimmer, 24, struggled to break into the Spurs team last season and played just 10 times in all competitions with only five of those appearances coming in the Premier League.
He also appeared just four times for the Tottenham first team in 2017 and on Sunday German news outlet Bild reported that the centre-back could be set for a return to Bundesliga outfit Koln.
However, Wimmer himself sent a message to fans later on Sunday evening via his personal Twitter account thanking the support for last season and that he was looking forward to the return of the next campaign.

The message ended up receiving a positive reaction from the Tottenham fan base on social made and many were keep to express that they also wanted to see Wimmer in a Spurs shirt next season.

Wimmer has now been at Tottenham for two years after signing from Koln in a £4.3million deal in the summer of 2015.
He has featured in 31 matches for Spurs in total since his move and is still contracted to the club until 2021.
