Leicester City winger Riyad Mahrez has reportedly told the club he wants to quit this summer – but Tottenham fans on Twitter claim they don’t want him.
Playmaker Mahrez had admitted in a statement, which was released by Sky Sports on Tuesday, that it was “time to move on to a new experience”, declaring his intention to leave the club.
The 26-year-old has previously been linked with a move away from the King Power Stadium, with interest at its peak following their Premier League title win in 2015-16, but Leicester were reluctant to let him leave.
The Sun have claimed that Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino is interested in the winger, but they could face competition from rivals Arsenal – and many others – for his signature.
However, Tottenham fans came out in force on social media following Mahrez’s transfer bombshell to declare they had little interest in seeing Mahrez move to their club this summer.

Mahrez? Now there's a genuine one season wonder. Didn't bother this season. Not the kind of player we want or need #thfc #COYS

Mahrez scored 18 goals and supplied 10 assists during Leicester’s successful 2015-16 title-winning season, but struggled to replicate his form in the Premier League last term.
The Algeria international managed just 10 goals and seven assists from 48 appearances last season, as Leicester finished 12th in England’s top flight.
Tottenham could consider dipping into the transfer market to bolster their attacking options in the wider areas this summer, particularly amid the continued absence of the injured Erik Lamela.
Summer signings Moussa Sissoko and Georges-Kevin N’Koudou have also proven ineffective, and Pochettino could be tempted to move for Mahrez following his public declaration of his intent to quit Leicester.
