Tottenham are not interested in signing Crystal Palace winger Wilfred Zaha, according to Guardian journalist Ed Aarons.

The deputy news editor of the Sport section has claimed on his personal Twitter account that Spurs have “no intention” of making a bid for the 24-year-old attacker less than 24 hours after reporting an offer was imminent.

Aarons had claimed on Wednesday evening that a £30million bid was imminent for the Palace player.

However, he has now reported the club’s stance on Zaha amid strong speculation he will be heading to White Hart Lane this summer.

“Contrary to what I was told yesterday, Tottenham insist they have no intention in bidding for Wilfred Zaha,” said Aarons.

Tottenham finished the Premier League campaign as runners-up to champions Chelsea, with Pochettino securing back-to-back Champions League places.

Aarons also claimed that Zaha is yet to agree to a new deal at Palace, with the Ivory Coast international playing a big part in the club surviving relegation this season.

Zaha played 35 league matches for the London club, scoring seven goals and supplying 11 assists, including an impressive individual display during the 2-1 win at Chelsea in April.

Former Manchester United player Zaha has three-years left on his current deal at Selhurst Park, with his club now without a manager following the shock retirement of Sam Allardyce.

The former England manager, who replaced Alan Pardew in the Palace dugout in December, announced on Tuesday that he has no intention of managing again.

After a number of dazzling displays on the wing this season added with Allardyce’s departure, it could increase the chances of Zaha making a summer move to another Premier League club.
