BBC pundit Pat Nevin has spoken highly about Celtic ace Kieran Tierney and stated that he would take him at English Premier League champions, Chelsea.

Former Chelsea winger Nevin compared the 19-year-old to Bhoys legend Danny McGrain and stated that “it’s the highest possible compliment you could pay a player”.

Full-back McGrain, who played during the 1970’s and 80’s, was known as an attacking right-back during his playing days as he won seven Scottish Premiership titles.

Left-back Tierney is highly-rated at Parkhead and has been a regular member of Brendan Rodgers ‘Invincibles’ side this season.

Speaking on BBC radio, Nevin was full of praise for the Scottish youngster, who came through the ranks at Celtic.

“I would take Tierney at Chelsea right now, he is that good,” Nevin told the Monday Night Club on BBC Radio Five Live.

“Watching Tierney and it’s the highest possible compliment you could possibly pay a player, he reminds me of Danny MaGrain.”

Over the course of the season, Tierney has played 39 games in all competitions for Rodgers side, scoring two goals and supplying 12 assists.

Earlier on in the campaign, he missed up to three months of action after injuring his cruciate ligaments.

Nonetheless, he returned to the first-team set-up and helped Celtic steam role to the title as they finished the season with a mammoth 106 points to their name.

Added to that, during their unbeaten league season, the Hoops only dropped points on four occasions as they are now on course to win the domestic treble.

The Glasgow giants already have the Scottish Premiership title and Scottish League Cup in the cabinet as they will be looking to add the Scottish Cup when they face Aberdeen this Saturday.
