Leeds United are in the running to sign prolific Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham, according to bookmakers Bet Victor.

The betting company have priced the Championship giants at 16/1 to sign Abraham, 19, before 3 September.

Brighton are the favourites to land the forward, who has been linked with a string of leading clubs after making a huge impact this season during a loan spell at Bristol City.

The Premier League new boys are ahead of Middlesbrough (5/1), Aston Villa (6/1), Leicester, Galatasaray, Newcastle, West Brom (all 12/1) as well as eight clubs priced at 16/1 that include Leeds.

London-born Abraham has emerged as one of the outstanding young strikers in English football after scoring 26 goals from 48 matches in all competitions for Bristol City this season.

The teenager’s haul of 23 league strikes makes him the second-highest scorer in the Championship, behind only Leeds’ Chris Wood, who has netted on 27 occasions in the competition.

The England Under-21 international was the major reason behind Bristol City staying in the division as they finished the campaign in 17th position.

Abraham is highly rated teenager by his parent club Chelsea, but the competition for places at the Premier League leaders is extremely fierce.

He has a contract with the west Londoners that runs until 2019 and there is a possibility he could push for a permanent transfer in the summer window.

Leeds were in the market for a new striker in the January transfer window and could face a battle to hang on to Wood after they missed out on a place in the play-offs following a wretched end to the season.
