Four Premier League clubs were in attendance to watch Celtic defender Jozo Simunovic star against Aberdeen in Saturday’s Scottish Cup final, according to the Mail.

The report claims Burnley, Swansea, Crystal Palace and West Brom all sent scouts to Hampden Park to watch the 22-year-old, as Celtic completed a marvellous treble with a last-gasp 2-1 win over Aberdeen.

It is believed Newcastle are also interested in the commanding defender, with Celtic willing to sell the Serbia international for a fee of £8million this summer.

The former Dinamo Zagreb ace has been in and out of Brendan Rodgers’ side this season, donning the green and white of Celtic 33 times in all competitions.

Celtic’s number five has helped his side keep 18 clean sheets when on the field, and even found the back of the net once in a 2-1 away win against Dundee back in March.

The defender featured for the entire 90 minutes on Saturday afternoon, as he impressed onlooking spies with a performance that kept Aberdeen forwards Jayden Stockley and Adam Rooney quiet.

Forming a partnership with Belgium international Dedryck Boyata, Simunovic has provided his side with a tough-tackling, sturdy basis that gives his teammates the impetus to go on and attack opposition.

However, after completing a treble in his second season on Parkhead, Simunovic could now be set for a move down south despite having three years remaining on his current Celtic deal.
