Calvert-Lewin is enjoying life at Everton

Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin has stated that he will play “anywhere” to play regularly under Ronald Koeman next season.

The 20-year-old enjoyed a breakthrough campaign under the Dutchman this season which resulted in him scoring his first Premier League goal.

Calvert-Lewin moved to Goodison Park last summer when Everton paid his boyhood club Sheffield United £2million for his services.

After impressing for the reserves side, Koeman then gave him his senior debut against Arsenal in December, with the Toffees going on to win that match 2-1.

Over the course of the season, Calvert-Lewin played in a variety of positions under Koeman and the highly-rated youngster was pretty clear in what he will do to continue playing first-team football.

“I’m learning every day in training and in the games so I can’t really ask for much more,” Calvert-Lewin told the club’s official website.

“It only feels like yesterday that I was signing for Everton so be here now is a great feeling. I’ve been playing out wide but I’m really enjoying it.  It’s relatively new because I am more used to playing down the middle as a number nine but I’ll play anywhere if it means I am getting games. It’s the Premier League so it’s all good experience for me.” 92

Overall, Calvert-Lewin played 11 Premier League matches for his side, scoring his one and only goal during the 4-0 win against relegated-Hull City in March.

The Merseyside club went on to clinch a top seven finish at the end of the season as they now have the opportunity to play in next season’s Europa League.

Belgium international Romelu Lukaku was the club’s key player this term, scoring 25 league goals, second behind Tottenham frontman Harry Kane who secured the Golden Boot by finding the back of the net on 29 occasions.

Nonetheless, there is the likelihood that Lukaku could be leaving Goodison Park in the summer after he revealed in March that he will not be putting pen-to-paper on a new contract.
