Tottenham are in the race to sign Monaco winger Thomas Lemar, according to the latest betting odds.

Leading bookmaker Sky Bet have priced the 21-year-old at 8/1 to make a switch to White Hart Lane before September 3, with their north London rivals Arsenal leading the betting race at 3/1.

France international Lemar has had a tremendous campaign for free-scoring Monaco, who claimed the Ligue 1 title this season by scoring 107 goals and accumulating 95 points from their 38 matches.

Added with that, he also helped his team into the semi-finals of the Champions League as he destroyed many opposition players on the wing by scoring two goals and supplying five assists during the competition.

Lemar was a prominent figure in Manchester City being knocked out of Europe too, he provided two assists during his side’s triumph over Pep Guardiola’s men.

He is contracted to the French club until 2020 but his performances this season would have no doubt caught the eye of Europe’s elite.

Over the course of the campaign, he played 55 matches in all competitions, scoring 14 goals and supplying 17 assists, mainly playing on the left-wing.

Spurs were in the same Champions League group as Monaco this season, with Lemar scoring during both fixtures against Mauricio Pochettino’s side, who lost both encounters 2-1.

Monaco went on to claim top spot and progress through to the next round alongside Bayer Leverkusen.
