Jordan Ayew has shared he is feeling reborn after leaving Aston Villa for Premier League side Swansea in January.

The 25-year-old forward left the Midlands giants on deadline day of the winter window to move back to the English top-flight in a deal that could rise to £5million plus the exchange of defender Neil Taylor.

He has since played in 14 matches for Paul Clement’s team, scoring one goal and providing three himself as Swansea retained their top-flight status.

Now with the season over the Ghanaian has told that it has been a difficult campaign for himself, referencing the first half at Aston Villa, but he has also told that he is now happy at Swansea.

“It has not been easy for me this season,” told Ayew, as quoted by the official Swansea website.

“I came from Aston Villa in January. I was lucky the club had confidence in me and brought me here.

“I don’t know what to say – thank you is not enough.

“I am so happy here. I feel like I have been reborn.

“The supporters have been wonderful. The gaffer, the staff – everyone has been wonderful to me. I just thank God.

“It was not easy this year, but I thank God. I really believe in God and without him I wouldn’t be where I am today.

“I thank him and I thank Swansea for giving me this chance.”

Ayew completed a move to Aston Villa in the summer of 2015 from French side FC Lorent for a fee said to be in the region of £8million.

However, he failed to keep the club in the Premier League last season, returning just seven goals in 30 league appearances for the club and in the Championship he managed just two goals and four assists in 21 encounters.

Steve Bruce’s side have since moved on since his departure and it is felt that the aim for the club next season will be promotion.
