Former Manchester United defender Phil Neville has singled out Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil as Arsenal’s top performances in Saturday’s FA Cup final win against Chelsea.

Sanchez opened the scoring in the first-half and was arguably man of the match as the Gunners went on to win 2-1 and end Chelsea’s hopes of a double.

Diego Costa equalised for Antonio Conte’s side not long after Victor Moses was given his marching orders after he picked up a second yellow card for diving.

However Aaron Ramsey scored just moments later to hand Arsene Wenger with his seventh FA Cup title while in charge at Arsenal – more than any manager in history.

And Neville, 40, had special praise for two of the Gunners’ top players after the game.

“Ozil and Sanchez have been brilliant today for Arsenal,” said the pundit on his personal Twitter account on Saturday.

Neville was no stranger to the FA Cup during his playing days and was part of three Manchester United squads the won the world’s oldest cup competition.

The former defender-turned-midfielder ended his career with Everton in 2013 and has since had coaching roles at United, Salford and Valencia.

Arsenal have endured a very tough league campaign and have missed out on Champions League football for the first time in Wenger’s reign.

Their form improved towards the end of the season and pressed Liverpool into winning their last Premier League game in order to finish in the top four.
