Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey has admitted he hopes Arsene Wenger stays at the club until next season.

The 26-year-old’s comments came after his side’s FA Cup win on Saturday, as they beat Chelsea 2-1 in the final at Wembley.

Alexis Sanchez opened the scoring for the Gunners, before Diego Costa pulled level mid-way through the second half, but Ramsey was on hand to net the winner and secure his side’s third FA Cup title in four seasons.

Speaking to the London Evening Standard after the match, he revealed he hopes his manager stays at the club.

He said: “It’s been an up and down season but to finish it with an FA Cup has to be a successful season.

“The boys deserve it and I’m happy for the manager to get another FA Cup. I hope he stays here, he’s been fantastic for me and fantastic for these players. He deserves this. Hopefully, he’ll be here next season because we owe him a lot.”

The title is Ramsey’s third FA Cup at Arsenal, having also played a part in the 2014 and 2015 wins.

The 26-year-old has been a mainstay in the middle of the park for the Gunners this term, making 32 appearances in all competitions, scoring four goals and providing five assists.

Ramsey has been at the club since the summer of 2008 when Wenger signed him from Cardiff for £5.4million, and he has gone onto feature in 299 league and cup games for the club, scoring 48 goals.

The central midfielder is also a 46-time Wales international, and he played a crucial role in their 2016 European Championships campaign, providing four assists and scoring one goal in five games.
