Arsenal are set to make one last attempt to retain the services of star duo Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez, according to the Mirror.

The newspaper claim that The Gunners are set to offer their attacking superstars a lucrative deal worth a combined £30million per season, in a final attempt to get them to commit their futures to the club.

Sanchez and Ozil are both out of contract at the end of next season, and face uncertain futures this summer after Arsenal failed to qualify for the Champions League ahead of next season.

But Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger, who is reportedly set to sign a new two-year-deal at the club, believes their recent FA Cup triumph can help persuade his two most prized assets to stay put at the Emirates.

The Mirror states the club are preparing to offer Sanchez, 28, a new two-year contract in excess of £275,000-per-week, following an impressive season where he contributed 30 goals and 19 assists in all competitions.

Ozil, meanwhile, has already been offered a deal worth £280,000-per-week, but the German international midfielder is looking for a deal closer to £350,000-per-week.

The futures of the pair have been under heavy debate for a prolonged period, but Arsenal are set to discuss their action plan at a board meeting on Tuesday.

But if either or both players refuse to commit to a new agreement, Arsenal face a tough decision on whether to allow them to leave for free at the end of their contracts, or cash-in on them this summer while they still can.

A host of clubs have already been alerted to the situation, with the likes of Bayern Munich and Manchester City ‘confident’ of landing Sanchez, should he turn his back on the north London club.
