Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino has revealed that Josh Onomah, Cameron Carter-Vickers and Kyle Walker-Peters are set to play a bigger role in the first team next season.

Spurs have been competing for the Premier League title this season and will finish the year as runners-up, but Pochettino has still found time to integrate some youth players.

The north London club have an extremely competitive squad, but academy graduates Harry Kane and Harry Winks are shining examples of breakthroughs into the first team.

Rising stars Onomah and Carter-Vickers have had a taste of the first team this year, while Walker-Peters is still awaiting his first senior chance.

Pochettino was asked about the future of the Spurs trio and explained they should become more involved next year.

“Yes, of course. They are players that we are thinking about for the future,” Pochettino told Football London. “Yes, we expect that they will be involved next season more than they were this season.”

Onomah, 20, is the most developed out of the trio and has made 12 senior appearances this season, including five cameo roles in the Premier League.

The attacking midfielder managed to score in an EFL Cup victory over Gillingham in September and will be keen to kick on next year.

Meanwhile, defender Carter-Vickers has featured four times for Pochettino’s side and is currently sidelined with a knee injury.

The 19-year-old has been a regular feature in the Spurs match day squad, but is finding hard to get a look in ahead of first teamers Toby Alderweireld, Jan Vertonghen and Eric Dier.

Meanwhile, Walker-Peters is yet to play for Spurs’ first team during his career, but the 20-year-old is highly rated at White Hart Lane.

Onomah and Walker=Peters have been called up to England Under-20s World Cup squad, while Carter-Vickers is included in the USA side for the same competition.
