Leeds wrap up eight scholarship deals

|

Leeds have completed the signing of eight young players on their scholarship signing day, it was announced on Thursday.

The Whites confirmed on their official website that eight youngsters have put pen to paper to agree two-year scholarship contracts.

They have revealed the latest crop of talented players to agree terms at Elland Road and they will hope some of them can make a breakthrough to the first team in the future.

Olivier Casey, Jack Clarke, Theodore Hudson, Niall Huggins, Luke Lyons, Harrison Male, Lucas Odunston and Joseph Stanley are the select eight to agree deals.

The website explained that a number of the players that have agreed deals have already represented the Whites at Under-18s level this season.

Leeds have become renowned for producing talent players over the years with the likes of James Milner, Aaron Lennon, Fabian Delph and Sam Byram coming through the prestigious academy.

The Whites also have current academy stars in the senior side and 18-year-old midfielder Ronaldo Vieira is a shining example of a breakout star this season.

Garry Monk has been keen to introduce young players already during his time with the Yorkshire club and academy players have a genuine chance of earning a first team call-up.

Charlie Taylor is another huge success from the academy and he has made 104 senior appearances for the club.

However, he looks set to be leaving Leeds on a negative note after refusing to play against Wigan in the last day of the season and West Brom are keen on his signature.
