Leeds fans have praised youth graduate Lewis Cook on Twitter after he scored an excellent long range effort for the England Under-20s on Tuesday morning.

The 20-year-old current Bournemouth midfielder put the young Three Lion team 1-0 up against their counterparts from Guinea with a fine strike from outside the area.

But, the goal proved to only earn a point for England in their World Cup group with Paul Simpson’s side falling to a 1-1 draw after Chelsea youngster Fikayo Tomori put the ball in the back of his own net.

Despite leaving Leeds for Premier League outfit Bournemouth a year a go fans have still be keen to follow his development.

A number would have also been looking to see what he could do on the international stage with many believing he can break into the senior England team in the near future.

But, for now Leeds fans will have to watch him in the Under-20s and those that did were clearly impressed with his strike on social media.

Here are a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Cook joined Leeds in 2004 at the age of seven and made his debut for the club 10 years later at 17 in their first league game of the 2014-15 season against Millwall.

He went on to play 85 times for the club in total, returning two goals and five assists and was key player for the Yorkshire giants before stepping up to Bournemouth where he has since played just nine times.
