Leeds are reportedly set to confirm Victor Orta as their new technical director – and fans have taken to Twitter to express their disappointment.
Yorkshire Evening Post journalist Lee Sobot reported on his personal Twitter account on Monday that the former Middlesbrough recruitment chief was set to be announced by Leeds within days.
Expecting ex-Middlesbrough man Victor Orta's arrival as #lufc's new technical director to be confirmed at some stage this mid-week #lufc

Orta quit his role as part of the backroom team at Boro a week ago, soon after their relegation from the Premier League.
It now appears the Spaniard has a new role all but lined up at Elland Road as sole owner Andrea Radrizzani continues his shake-up of the club’s management structure.
The imminent arrival, which is said by Sobot to be confirmed by the middle of the week, has not met with the acclaim of the Leeds fans.
Many took to social media to remark upon the failed recruitment at Boro as the slipped out of the top flight, although some defended Orta and his part in the debacle.
Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:
@LeeSobotYEP Why are we going for him? I thought his signings were horrendous.

@LeeSobotYEP His time at Boro went sour but his work previous was very good and is well thought off, Sevilla for example and Boros promotion season…

@LeeSobotYEP And we need a technical director because ……. ???? It worked without one last year . Can’t bear the thought of a new project

@LeeSobotYEP Boro’s signings weren’t great, that is what worries me. Could be like Salerno and too many foreigners. Hope he does well though. #lufc

Orta’s appointment could days after Angus Kinnear was named as the club’s new managing director, replacing Ben Mansford, who quit as chief executive a week earlier.
Leeds are also on the hunt for a new manager following Garry Monk’s shock departure last week, with Orta’s former Boro colleague Aitor Karanka one of the frontrunners to take over in the Elland Road hotseat.
Orta has also held roles at La Liga giants Sevilla and Russian Premier League outfit Zenit St Petersburg.
