It is understood the Scottish champions want him to sign a new four-year deal before the cup final against Aberdeen on 27 May.

However, the report details that Armstrong is receiving major attention from English clubs West Ham, Everton and Brighton.

West Brom scouts have been to watch the central midfielder and they are prepared to offer around £8million for him, while also giving wages in excess of £30,000-a-week.

Celtic will be hoping Champions League football next season can help keep one of their star performers who is in the brink of helping a famous domestic treble.

The central midfielder, who can also be used in more advanced role, has made 45 appearances across all competitions.

He has contributed with 15 goals and chipped in by supplying seven assists in return.

Armstrong has been rejuvenated since the arrival of Rodgers in the summer and become an ever-present in the starting line-up.

His performances helped him earn his first international cap for Scotland this campaign and he is set to become a permanent feature for his nation after a scoring debut.
