Bookmakers have temporarily suspended the betting on Watford captain Troy Deeney signing for Leeds in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Sky Bet have suspended betting for the Premier League striker to make the switch to Elland Road, while also doing the same for Championship rivals Birmingham.

The Englishman is 1/2 favourite to remain at Vicarage Road next season, while West Brom (5/2), Newcastle (6/1) and Leicester (14/1) are also listed by the bookmakers.

Deeney has not been linked direcetly with a move to Leeds, but Sky Bet are now not willing to take bets on the move.

The Sun reported in April that West Brom were considering a move for the striker and preparing a £20million-plus move.

The Watford captain has been with the Hornets since 2010 and become a huge figure for the club in that time.

He has made 303 senior appearances for the Londoners and scored a fantastic 106 goals in return.

Deeney has proven himself in both the Championship and Premier League during recent seasons, something that Leeds would surely love to exploit as they look for promotion next year.

The Yorkshire giants will be looking to bolster their squad in the summer as they try to return to the top flight and will be aiming to build on their seventh-placed finish this season.

Garry Monk’s side just missed out on the play-offs and the general feeling was that striker Chris Wood was too heavily relied upon for goals, but the addition of Deeney would certainly add superb firepower to the Championship outfit.
