West Ham make Cairns move

|

West Ham are preparing an end of season move for Alex Cairns.

According to a report in the Daily Mail the Fleetwood keeper has impressed Hammers scouts as they search to bring fresh talent to the London Stadium.

Cairns only broke into the Fleetwood team in October but has attracted attention with 15 clean sheets as his side push for promotion.

West Ham are keen to snap up the best emerging talents in the lower divisions with Fleetwood renowned now for unearthing Jamie Vardy with scouts keen to get in early for the next star.

Cairns was released by Leeds United just under two years ago but has applied himself well with Fleetwood and taken his chance with both hands.

With a year to run on his contract West Ham will be hoping to keep the fee below £3m but Fleetwood will want to secure add-ons for Cairns forcing his way into the first team and other bonus payments.
