Manchester United are ready to hand Ander Herrera a new contract.
According to a report in the Daily Mail the midfielder, who is out of contract in June 2018, is in line for a new £120,000/week contract at Old Trafford.
Herrera has been a key figure this season under Jose Mourinho, highlighted by his match winning display in the 2-0 win over Chelsea at the weekend.
United splashed out £29m signing the midfielder from Athletico Bilbao in 2014 but unlike many of the signings of the Louis van Gaal era Herrera has flourished under Mourinho.
During the summer United are expected to be involved in a number of high end transfer deals but Mourinho is also keen to retain the players that have impressed him.
Herrera, who has made over 40 first team appearances this season, falls into that category and is expected to sign a new four year contract before the end of the season.
