West Ham are considering a bid for Daniel Sturridge.

According to a report in the Daily Mail the Liverpool striker is in the thoughts of Slaven Bilic as he looks to play a more expansive passing game.

That almost certainly spells the end of the road for Andy Carroll with Bilic frustrated by the lengthy absences that the striker has had through injuries.

After a yo-yo season adjusting to life at the London Stadium and some brushes with the relegation places Bilic is under no illusions about the expectations at West Ham.

Sturridge has also had his injury problems this season but unlike Carrol has enjoyed some periods of regular football in which he has been a prolific scorer.

The former Chelsea striker was a revelation under Brendan Rodgers at Anfield but hasn’t seen eye to eye with Jurgen Klopp since the German took over as manager.

Liverpool are understood to have put a £40m price tag on Sturridge but West Ham are hoping to get the price down closer to £30m.
